VISITING PROFESSORS & SCHOLAR PROGRAM

The IALS Visiting Professor & Scholar Program serves to facilitate the exchange of legal scholars among our members. In keeping with our mission of advancing and improving legal education globally by learning from each other, this program provides opportunities for professors to pursue a research project, enhance their resume, experience culture and region unlike their own, network with other members, and learn and analyze practices to help them reflect on and modernize their curriculum, teaching methods, and educational tools.

This program allows our members to travel and visit another member’s school for a semester. They gain international experience & exposure and are able to advance in their scholarly and academic pursuits. This program also aims to give members the opportunity to pursue a research project, something which can be sometimes impossible to undertake on a regular full-time teaching schedule. There are specific criteria in order to qualify to be a Visiting Professor or Scholar.

  • The Visiting Professor is to teach one full 3 credit course at the host school for one semester and pursue a research project.
  • The Scholar is expected to pursue a research project at the host school and assist in teaching if requested.
